Possibility of posting some of my art lesson plans on here...

I’ve been told multiple times, by both teachers and non-teachers alike, that I should sell my lesson plans online.

While I could always use another “side hustle”, I’m also very conscious of how important it is to share resources as a teacher. Especially when I, myself, am often scouring the internet for new ideas and examples to show my students.

I already have a blogspot for the art projects I do in class with my students, and while I want to keep that public (or otherwise move the posts onto here), I am thinking about selling the formal lesson slides. The ones I wrote up with all the IB terminology.

Being an art teacher has taught me an abundance of things, but one of the main things is the importance of OPEN SOURCE.

In the meantime, check out my teaching/lesson plan blog if you’re in the market for a project.

Drawings from the mall

I took my tutoring students to the mall to do their “café drawings”. They were nervous about drawing in public, like a SWAT team was gonna pop out and arrest us, but naturally, nothing of the sort happened.

Also happened to brush up on my own life drawing in the process and here’s some pics.

We were all enamored with the dude w/ glasses on this page. Such great expressions and gestures (he had a friend sitting across from him, so he was in conversation). I really wanted to stress to them the importance of capturing what it is about the person that caught your attention. Their pose? Expression? Style? It was fun seeing them get frustrated over their chosen models moving or walking out of their line of sight. Hopefully it’ll teach them to sketch faster.

Nobody ever escapes from H*talia

Hetalia is censored as a joke, I promise.

I wrote about this on my tumblr, but some time ago, I was involved in a collaborative zine centering around historical H*talia—The issue in question was focusing on Asia, and as a diehard Mongoliaboo (joke) (thanks Dad), I knew I had to be involved.

Below is a link to the zine, as well as the poem I wrote for said zine (alongside the illustration that goes with the poem). The part of the cover I did (it was collaborative) will be uploaded to my main 2D gallery.
