So many sketchbooks with so many doodles and drawings, and yet I have been neglecting their upload and archiving. Well, no more!
Those who know my work well, know these characters. They probably have some of the strongest physical presence in my sketchbooks and writing. I would say only Nemesis’ design has changed at all (larger eyes).
You can see my love of noses on them—They just make a face so much better! There’s no such thing as a good face with a bad nose.
Characters that belong to friends. Not all of them had strong physical descriptions, so I got to give a little of my own headcanons and style onto them (particularly the lower left one).
Ximena, naturally. I believe I drew these on her birthday—She’s definitely the current favorite of all my characters.
Ximena once again—But this time there’s a Little Mermaid joke involved. Something about kissing the girl and getting it over with while the girl in question doesn’t have a lot to say. Hah.
Different design ideas for Ximena’s mother, whose face still remains obscure and nebulous to this day. Then at the bottom we have Balam and Ximena. I wish her mother’s face would reveal itself to me as easily as her dad’s.
Attempts to assign a face to Antony. They’re all not right, a little to the left. Almost there but not quite. I looked at a lot of photos of Buster Keaton and Dorian Jespers.
Children designs of my characters paired off with friends’. A really fun exercise in character creation. I loved thinking up unique little personalities for all of them.
Fanart/gift of my friend’s character, Neelam. Attempts at getting to know her through art.
